POLISHING AND SURFACE TREATMENTS Hayward Quartz has extensive surface finishing capability. In addition to single-sided lapping/polishing up to 48” diameter, the company has 15 double-sided polishers (Spitfire/Speedfam). Our typical commercial polish specification is to 80/50 scratch-dig, tighter tolerances available upon request. Other surface finish treatments available include bead blasting, mechanical (grit) lapping, and proprietary wet etch surface treatments, such as “GE Power Etch". |
